The Makeup Book Tag // answered by someone who literally never wears makeup πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

Hey, everyone! How are you doing? Today I’m doing The Makeup Book Tag even though I haven’t put on makeup in ages πŸ˜‚ Thank you to Maddie @ Inking & Thinking for tagging me! Make sure to check out her answers and her blog!

Let’s get started!

Primer – Pick a book that left a lasting impression

Some Other Now by Sarah Everett οΈ±My review

Will I ever shut up about this book? Hmmm…. probably not. I read it because I got it as an ARC on Edelweiss+ and I was not expecting to love it as much as I did. I thought about this book every waking second during the days that I was reading it and weeks after. The bad part is that it is criminally underrated so you should definitely pick it up!

Foundation – Pick your favorite first book in a series

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Would this really be a Susana tag if I didn’t mention The Mortal Instruments at least once? I remember loving City of Bones so freaking much when I first read it and I’ll forever be thankful to emmmabooks for introducing me to the Shadowhunter Chronicles.

Concealer – Pick a character you wish you could get rid of

Here the Whole Time by Vitor MartinsοΈ±My review

I don’t remember their names, but both of the bullies from this book can go to hell πŸ™‚

Powder – Pick your favorite last book in a series

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra ClareοΈ± My review

Ah shit, here we go again. Look… yes, I’m talking about this book again asdfghjk. Sorry not sorry, this finale is a masterpiece and no one can tell me otherwise. To be honest, any book that has Jem Carstairs in it already has an automatic bonus in my book.

Eyebrows – A book you think everyone should read

Real by Carol CujecοΈ±My review

This is a middle-grade novel that follows a thirteen-year-old girl named Charity who has autism and has never spoken. Not many people have read this story, which is unfortunate because I found it to be very eye-opening and an important read for people of all ages.

Eyeliner – Pick a dark and mysterious book

Wilder Girls by Rory PowerοΈ±My review

This story takes place in a very isolated setting where are there a lot of secrets and weird, dark things going on. People have very polarising opinions on it but I personally loved!

Mascara – Pick a long book

A Promised Land by Barack Obama

I don’t usually read non-fiction but I read Michelle Obama’s memoir and I really enjoyed it so I thought it would probably be very interesting to find out more about her husband and President of the USA. Its length is actually the reason I haven’t read it yet – it’s suuuuper long 😬 (750+ pages)

Pick a book that had a cringe-worthy romance

Scythe by Neal ShustermanοΈ±My review

What happens when you put together two bland characters with no chemistry? You get an equally flat and cringy romance πŸ™‚

Highlighter – Pick a book that brightened your day

Heartstopper by Alice OsemanοΈ±My review

This graphic novel series is one of the best things that I’ve ever read and it always puts a smile on my face. Nick and Charlie are such cinnamon rolls and so cute together πŸ₯Ί

Lipstick – Your favorite book kiss

I have to mention this series again because the fact that I still remember this scene where Clary and Jace kiss for the first time just shows how much I loved it.

I tag: Gauri @ a book and chaiοΈ±Jan @ thedoodlecrafterοΈ± Joy @ ohsrslybooks

  1. Haha, I almost never wear makeup either, so I feel you 😁 Although we do seem to disagree on couples a lot – I am not a huge Jem fan, but love Citra and Rowan! But we’re on the same page with Heartstopper and Jace and Clary, so I guess it’s okay 🀣 Great answers!

      1. Hugely unpopular opinion, I know πŸ˜… I just never felt he had much personality apart from being sick and playing the violin, especially when contrasted with someone as amazing as Will 😍 But I think I’m definitely the odd one out here 😁

    1. Thank you πŸ˜„
I get that, I’m like that but for my outfits, they’ve very much consisted of sweatpants and an old sweater πŸ˜›

    1. I love how everyone I’ve tagged also doesn’t wear makeup πŸ˜‚
(No pressure, but also, you NEED to give her books a try πŸ˜†)

  2. This was a great post! I also really enjoyed Wilder Girls; it was way outside of my comfort zone in terms of the genre but I’m glad I picked it up. I’ve also never heard of Some Other Now, but it sounds like something I need to read so it’s getting added to my (never ending) TBR 🀩
